A Reiki treatment is a very relaxing and comforting experience. Reiki is both powerful and gentle. Some clients feel the Reiki energy as feeling of heat, cold, tingling, flowing and even throbbing sensation. This differs from client to client and also differs from treatment to treatment, the reason being that Reiki energy has an intelligence of its own, it is not controlled by the Practitioner, and will flow wherever in the body that it is most needed. The Practitioner undertakes each treatment with the clear intention of healing for the highest good of their client at all times.
There are many reasons why people choose to come for a Reiki treatment. In my experience the most common reasons are:-
- To reduce stress
- Pain relief & other physical ailments
- Emotional issues... i.e. depression, fear etc.
- Time out to heal
Reiki has unlimited potential to heal. In its' long history Reiki has aided in healing many illnesses and injuries including serious problems like: multiple sclerosis, heart disease, and cancer as well as skin problems, cuts, bruises, broken bones, migraine, asthma, colds, flu to emotional issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, panic attacks and issues of self confidence and self esteem. As Reiki works to heal and balance Mind, Body & Spirit, the response is unique to each person.
Reiki is a wonderful technique for maintaining health, looking after your well-being and keeping your energy levels up. People who look after themselves when they are well are much less likely to get ill.
The number of treatments required is determined on a case by case basis. Each client's circumstances and issues are discussed at the first treatment and the practitioner will advise the client at this stage of the optimum number of treatments required. Both the client and the Practitioner becomes aware of the benefits and improvements in the clients situation over the period of the treatments. After the initial treatments, it is recommended that each client would return for regular Reiki treatments (each case is individually assessed), normally once a month or six weeks on an ongoing basis. The client might also consider learning Reiki from their Reiki Master and in this way will be empowered to carry out self healing, thus taking responsibility for their own health and well being. The ongoing need for healing by the Practitioner/Reiki Master of the client would then be reduced, however, intermittent treatments by the Reiki Master would still be recommended, albeit on a much reduced frequency .
