Reiki works on four levels:
Physical, Mental, Emotional & Spiritual levels.
We are all surrounded by and breathe in 'life force energy', without which we would not survive. This life force energy flows around us in a field of energy which is commonly known as 'the Aura'. When our life force energy flows freely, it nourishes the physical organs and each cell of our body, supporting them in their vital functions. If this flow of life force energy is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs, cells and tissues of the physical body.
Disruption in our life force energy takes place when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves. These negative thoughts and feelings attach to the aura and cause a disruption in the flow of life force energy around our bodies.
During a Reiki treatment, the life force energy flows through the practitioner to the client, from the hands of the practitioner. This energy flows through the affected parts of the client's energy field (aura), charging it with positive energy. This causes the negative energy in the clients aura to disintegrate. Reiki flows to where it is most needed in the client's energy field, it clears, strengthens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the client's life force to flow in a healthy, balanced and natural way. The practitioner gently places his/her hands on the main energy centres (chakras) of the client's body. In this way, Reiki flows freely into the client's body at the strategic points, and thus works to dissolve energy blocks and allows the client's life force energy to return to its natural balanced state.
